If you’re reading this and feeling like you’re behind… you’re not.
You’re human.
And today is a perfectly good day to begin again.
Over the years — almost four decades now — I’ve walked alongside clients, agents, teammates, and friends through some of their biggest life transitions. And if there’s one truth that shows up again and again, it’s this:
The feeling of “being behind” rarely comes from reality.
It comes from misalignment.
When what you’re doing… no longer matches who you want to become.
And even though I am naturally wired as a go-getter — someone who loves clarity, thrives with purpose, and takes action — I’ve had seasons where life felt too full, too noisy, or too stretched.
Where I found myself tolerating things that didn’t lift me… instead of choosing what aligned with the life I wanted.
And that’s where this story begins.
The Question That Changed My Life
A few years ago at a Todd Duncan event, he asked a question that stopped me right in my tracks:
“What’s unacceptable in your life and business right now?”
“…and what needs to happen to change it?”
He wasn’t asking about stress or inconvenience.
He was asking about the deeper things — the things we quietly allow that slowly drain our joy, our peace, and our purpose.
And when he asked what needs to happen to change it, something clicked.
It was an ah-ha moment.
A realization that I wasn’t stuck.
I wasn’t powerless.
I was in control — and I could change things.
That one question became a mirror.
I answered honestly.
I gained clarity.
And clarity created momentum.
Because once you know what’s unacceptable… you also know what needs to shift.
The Power of Realignment
Here’s what I’ve learned:
Thriving isn’t about doing more.
It’s about choosing differently.
It’s strategy.
It’s boundaries.
It’s alignment.
What you focus on wins —
so focus on what you want to win.
For me, that meant saying “no” to the things that pulled me off course…
and saying “yes” to the things that supported my goals, elevated my life, and strengthened my energy and purpose.
Not out of perfection.
But out of intention.
And that leads to the moment I’ll never forget.
The Day I Chose to Thrive Again
One morning — with a full calendar, a full inbox, and a list a mile long — I caught myself slipping into old patterns:
Rushed.
Distracted.
Overcommitted.
I paused.
I breathed.
And I asked myself the question again:
“What am I tolerating that’s keeping me from thriving?”
The answer came quickly.
So I made one small aligned decision…
and then another…
and then another.
I chose to realign.
To refocus.
To release what didn’t serve me.
To step back into purpose.
That’s what “Thrive On” means to me — and why the photo of me holding that simple little sign makes me smile every time.
It’s not décor.
It’s a declaration.
A reminder that I get to decide how I live my days.
And guess what?
I’m doing it — every single day.
I’m choosing to thrive, not just survive.
I’m choosing purpose over pressure.
And it feels empowering.
A Love Letter to Anyone Who Feels Behind
If no one has told you this lately, let me be the one:
You’re not behind.
You’re not late.
You’re not failing.
You’re not supposed to have it all figured out.
You’re simply ready for a fresh alignment.
And that’s something to celebrate.
Maybe you’re overwhelmed.
Maybe you’ve lost your rhythm.
Maybe life surprised you.
Maybe you’ve been carrying more than anyone knows.
Wherever you are — you can choose again.
You can start again.
You can shift again.
You can thrive again.
All it takes is one brave decision today.
Your One Next Step
If you feel scattered, stretched, or stuck… try this:
Choose one thing you’re tolerating — and release it.
Choose one thing that energizes you — and prioritize it.
That’s it.
That’s the beginning.
Alignment > perfection
Direction > speed
Purpose > pressure
And tomorrow?
You get to choose again.
Yay.
Thrive On.
