I think one of the gifts of getting older is learning to appreciate seasons differently.
Not just the changing seasons outside…
but the seasons we experience in life too.
And this time of year always reminds me of that.
Spring gives way to summer.
The trees fill in again.
The evenings stretch a little longer.
People spend more time outside.
Backyard barbecues, patio conversations, vacations, green grass, sunshine, and the excitement of a new season begin filling the air.
Everything shifts a little.
And honestly? Life does too.
Some seasons bring growth and opportunity.
Some feel busy and stretching.
Some bring healing, change, or new beginnings.
And some feel especially joyful and exciting.
But every season has something meaningful within it.
The Beauty Found Along the Way
I think sometimes we spend so much time rushing toward what’s next that we forget to appreciate where we are right now.
But so much of life’s beauty is found in the middle of the journey – and simply put, it’s the joy of the journey:
the ordinary evenings, the conversations around the table, the laughter in the backyard, the people we love, and the memories quietly being created along the way.
And somewhere along the way, home quietly becomes part of so much of it.
Home Becomes Part of the Story
One of the things I’ve loved most after nearly four decades in the mortgage business is getting to walk alongside people through so many different seasons of life and homeownership.
First homes.
Growing families.
Fresh starts.
Dream homes.
Downsizing.
New chapters.
Every story is different.
Every season is unique.
And honestly? I love them all.
Because home has a way of becoming the backdrop for life itself.
The babies brought home for the first time.
The summer nights.
The holiday traditions.
The late-night talks.
The backyard memories.
The people gathered around the table.
That’s the real meaning of home and the seasons of our lives.
Not perfection.
Not a magazine-worthy life.
Just… life unfolding in beautiful and meaningful ways.

The real beauty of life is learning to appreciate the season you’re in… and sometimes, learning from the difficult ones too.
To slow down once in a while.

To spend time with the people we love.
